So I went to see The Muppets: Most Wanted today. I really liked it. It was a solid sequel to the previous film and a nice installment in the Muppet franchise as a whole (in fact one of the songs notes it’s not the first Muppet sequel).
One common element of Muppet movies has been the soundtrack and this film had several catchy songs. Two stand outs for me were We’re Doing a Sequel (the song I mentioned earlier, also makes the joke about how “everybody knows that the sequel’s never quite as good”) and I’m Number One (Constantine’s song with Ricky Gervais).
Speaking of Constantine he was an entertaining villain. I like that there were subtle differences between him and Kermit besides the mole (which is on Kermit most of the movie while it’s covered up on Constantine) and voice (in fact his impression gets better over time).
So how was the movie as a whole? Certainly one worth seeing, it doesn’t take itself too seriously while still having many heartwarming moments. The celebrity guest stars and cameos were entertaining, the one that stood out for me the most was a short appearance from Chloë Grace Moretz (Hit-Girl from Kick-Ass). There are things that were better in the last film and other things this film did better. But yeah certainly worth a watch. Now I have to post this now before the day ends (left it WAY too late).
